Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Jak at 4.5 against McDonald’s's 3.4. Jak also leads on ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). McDonald’s's advantage is ratings volume (6.8K vs 46) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 6 weeks). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Jak holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: McDonald’s has 6.8K ratings behind it against 46, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 50% and 50% positive.
McDonald’s ships an update fortnightly, Jak every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
