After connection you can view the live view fullscreen on your iPhone or iPad. Caution for GH3 users - as reported by some users there is no live view during recording on some GH3 models. Verdict
The clearest difference is price: Panasonic LUMIX Lab at Free against GMonitor's $4.99. Panasonic LUMIX Lab also leads on rating (4.0 vs 2.4) and ratings volume (265 vs 8). GMonitor's advantage is review sentiment (43% vs 21%) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). On ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Panasonic LUMIX Lab is free to download; GMonitor costs $4.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Panasonic LUMIX Lab holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 2.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Panasonic LUMIX Lab has 265 ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 43% of GMonitor's written reviews are positive against 21% of Panasonic LUMIX Lab's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
GMonitor ships an update every 3 weeks, Panasonic LUMIX Lab every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
