Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Panasonic Image App at 3.5K against Panasonic LUMIX Lab's 273. Panasonic LUMIX Lab's advantage is update cadence (every 2 months vs every 4 months). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

Panasonic Image App holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Panasonic Image App has 3.5K ratings behind it against 273, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 17% of Panasonic Image App's written reviews are positive against 21% of Panasonic LUMIX Lab's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

Panasonic Image App ships an update every 4 months, Panasonic LUMIX Lab every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 4, 2026 respectively.
