The call

The clearest difference is rating: Personal Data Explorer at 3.6 against MineCheck's 2.3. Personal Data Explorer also leads on update cadence (every 2 months vs every 15 months) and ratings volume (37 vs 3). MineCheck's advantage is review sentiment (50% vs 26%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Personal Data Explorer holds the better App Store score, 3.6 against 2.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Personal Data Explorer has 37 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 26% of Personal Data Explorer's written reviews are positive against 50% of MineCheck's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

Personal Data Explorer ships an update every 2 months, MineCheck every 15 months. The most recent releases landed on June 10, 2026 and June 4, 2026 respectively.
