Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: CSL Referee at 100% against GotSport Live's 42%. CSL Referee also leads on monetization model (free vs ad-supported) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 15.6). GotSport Live's advantage is rating (3.8 vs 3.4) and update cadence (every 11 days vs every 2 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
GotSport Live holds the better App Store score, 3.8 against 3.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: GotSport Live has 96 ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of CSL Referee's written reviews are positive against 42% of GotSport Live's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
CSL Referee ships an update every 2 months, GotSport Live every 11 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
