Verdict
The clearest difference is ads: SoundEcho at none against Galactic Colonies's shown. SoundEcho also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 70%) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Galactic Colonies's advantage is ratings volume (297 vs 3) and update cadence (every 10 days vs every 5 weeks). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Galactic Colonies sells 11 one-off in-app purchases and SoundEcho sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Galactic Colonies holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Galactic Colonies has 297 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 70% of Galactic Colonies's written reviews are positive against 100% of SoundEcho's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Galactic Colonies ships an update every 10 days, SoundEcho every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 11, 2026 and September 25, 2026 respectively.
