Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is ads: Didget at none against Data Usage's shown. Didget also leads on review sentiment (73% vs 47%). Data Usage's advantage is ratings volume (1.2K vs 13) and rating (4.4 vs 4.1). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

Data Usage holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Data Usage has 1.2K ratings behind it against 13, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 47% of Data Usage's written reviews are positive against 73% of Didget's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

Data Usage ships an update every 3 weeks, Didget monthly. The most recent releases landed on September 29, 2026 and September 23, 2026 respectively.
