Fit Tolerance ISO vs mechanical design engine
Price, ratings, monetisation and update history for both apps, side by side — with what reviewers say about each.
Fit Tolerance ISO
Calculates engineering tolerances for various mechanical components based on ISO and ANSI standards. It determines size limits, deviations, and fit types for holes and shafts, offering schematic representations of fits.
- Calculates engineering tolerances
- Supports ISO and ANSI standards
- Determines clearance, transition, and interference fits
- Provides schematic fit representations
- Includes preferred tolerances and fits
- Works with metric units

Limits, fits and tolerances calculator has been developed to calculate engineering tolerances of inner and outer features of journal bearings, linear bearings, thrust bearings, bushings, ball bearings, roller bearings, housings, cylinder bores, drilled holes, linear and precision shafts, pistons, etc. The calculator works in line with ISO 286-1 (2010), ISO 286-2 (2010) and ANSI B4.2 (1978) standards which are based on metric units. According to the input parameters of nominal size and hole/shaft tolerances, size limits and deviations for hole/shaft are calculated and fit type is selected among the clearance, transition and interference fits. The schematic representation of the fit is also drawn. The preferred tolerances and fits advised by ISO and ANSI standards can be found in the "Supplements" section.

Verdict
The clearest difference is ads: mechanical design engine at none against Fit Tolerance ISO's shown. mechanical design engine also leads on update cadence (every 2 months vs every 12 months) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.
