Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: Mythical Society at 54% against Zip Printer's 27%. Zip Printer's advantage is ratings volume (33K vs 346) and rating (4.7 vs 4.4). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Zip Printer holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Zip Printer has 33K ratings behind it against 346, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 27% of Zip Printer's written reviews are positive against 54% of Mythical Society's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Zip Printer ships an update fortnightly, Mythical Society every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
