Enthusiasts run the same loop every day: WatchUSeek, r/Watchexchange, eBay, half a dozen more tabs. WatchPatrol runs the loop for you and puts the forum classifieds and marketplace listings in one searchable index. Forum classifieds are where rare references surface and where prices haven't been marked up. WatchPatrol catalogs 450+ brands and 5,000+ models, with filters for brand, model, price, size and more. KNOW THE NUMBER Median listed price, price range and price history by model, built from real listings across sources, so you walk into a deal knowing what's fair. Listing pages now show how the price compares with the model's median, with a Market card for the trend and the listing's own history. Model pages add image galleries, community sentiment and videos. LET THE HUNT RUN ITSELF Set an alert on a model, reference, seller or price range, and new matches come to you by push or email, instead of the other way around. Star a listing and switch on price-change notifications: when it's reposted at a lower price, you get a push and an email. TRACK YOUR COLLECTION Log the watches you own: photos, what you paid, box and papers, notes. Each piece shows an estimate based on what similar watches are listed for across the forums and marketplaces WatchPatrol indexes, and the collection total is charted over time. It's a guide to where the market sits, not a sale price and not a professional appraisal. Mark a watch sold to record what it went for against what you paid, and export the lot to CSV or PDF. SEE WHAT'S MOVING The redesigned Discover tab: top and trending models, top brands, most active sellers, and models by brand, style, region or price. Rare finds are picked by AI from recently refreshed listings, each with a short note on why it stood out. No human reviews them, so treat the note as a lead, not a verdict. IDENTIFY BY PHOTO Can't place a watch? Photograph it and get candidate models ranked by image similarity: a shortlist to work from, not a definitive ID. There's a camera shortcut on Discover. Requires a free sign-in. KNOW WHO'S SELLING Listing pages now carry a seller card: positive feedback percentage, reviews, listing count, where they sell and 12 months of activity. Seller pages show listing history and community feedback. And a straight answer on what we are: a search engine, not a marketplace. Every listing links back to its source, the deal happens where the seller posted it, and you bring your own diligence. We bring the price context. Free. Search, pricing and Discover work without an account. Sign in with Apple or Google for Alerts, Starred, Collection and Identify. iPhone and iPad.

Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is rating: WatchPatrol at 5.0 against Phillips's 4.5. WatchPatrol also leads on iOS requirement (16.4 vs 18.0). Phillips's advantage is review sentiment (80% vs 45%) and ratings volume (30 vs 4). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

WatchPatrol holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Phillips has 30 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 45% of WatchPatrol's written reviews are positive against 80% of Phillips's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

WatchPatrol ships an update every 2 weeks, Phillips fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
