Verdict
The clearest difference is ads: CartAngel at none against Chronogolf by Lightspeed's shown. CartAngel also leads on update cadence (every 2 days vs every 3 weeks) and rating (5.0 vs 4.8). Chronogolf by Lightspeed's advantage is ratings volume (32K vs 1). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
CartAngel holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Chronogolf by Lightspeed has 32K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
Chronogolf by Lightspeed ships an update every 3 weeks, CartAngel every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
