Verdict
The clearest difference is ratings volume: Homework Pal at 1.4K against Assignist's 25. Assignist's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and review sentiment (100% vs 83%). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Assignist holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Homework Pal has 1.4K ratings behind it against 25, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 100% of Assignist's written reviews are positive against 83% of Homework Pal's.
Assignist ships an update every 10 days, Homework Pal weekly. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
