Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is monetization model: BuddhaPath at free against myTibetan's free with in-app purchases. BuddhaPath also leads on update cadence (every 2 months vs every 5 months). myTibetan's advantage is ratings volume (72 vs 11) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 16.6). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. BuddhaPath sells 8 one-off in-app purchases and myTibetan sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for BuddhaPath against 4.9 for myTibetan. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

BuddhaPath ships an update every 2 months, myTibetan every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on September 19, 2026 and July 18, 2026 respectively.
