Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Watch NRL at none against Baseball+'s 14. Watch NRL also leads on ratings volume (52 vs 5) and review sentiment (17% vs 7%). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Baseball+ sells 14 one-off in-app purchases. Watch NRL asks for nothing beyond the download.
On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 2.5 for Watch NRL against 2.6 for Baseball+. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Watch NRL has 52 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 17% of Watch NRL's written reviews are positive against 7% of Baseball+'s.
Watch NRL ships an update every 4 months, Baseball+ every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
