One app for all of your events. Track participants on an events course map, view real-time leaderboards, receive participant progress alerts and important updates from events. • View & share results and rankings. • Find event landmarks with the course map. • Track participants via GPS. • Accept or decline tracking notifications. • Receive push notifications for followed participants. • Take and share event photos with all other spectators and participants using the app. • Easily follow and stay up-to-date with Marathons, 5Ks, 10Ks and Triathlons near you. In the Watch app, Apple’s HealthKit is used to collect heart rate and exercise data, and at the end of a run, the workout is saved to Healthkit. Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.

The Call is a personalized daily surf-spot recommender for surfers who want more than a generic forecast. **Today's Call** See exactly which spot is working right now — ranked by real swell direction, period, and wind against each break's actual exposure, not just wave height. **A Real Spot Database, Not a Handful of Defaults** Hundreds of researched spots across California (all 14 coastal counties), Hawaii (every island), Florida, the Northeast, Pacific Northwest, Gulf Coast, and the Carolinas — organized by region and county/state so your calls only ever include spots relevant to you. **Your Quiver, Your Gear** Add your own boards. The Call matches your actual quiver to the day's conditions and tells you which board and fin setup to grab — plus a smart backup pick when conditions might swing. **Session Focus** Get a technique to work on before you paddle out, tailored to the day's size, period, wind, and whichever board you're actually riding. **Surf Journal** Log every session — rate how good the call actually was, track your skills individually over time, and watch real progress charts build as you go. **Pick Your Window** Can only surf a specific block of time? Find out which spot is genuinely best for exactly that window, not just the best pick for the whole day. **Add Your Own Spots** Not just the built-in breaks — add any spot you know, anywhere, with your own read on how it faces and breaks. **Directions, Built In** Every spot links straight to Apple Maps or Google Maps, so if you don't know how to get there, you're one tap from turn-by-turn directions. **Sync Across Devices (Optional)** Create an account to keep your quiver, journal, and preferences synced everywhere — or skip it entirely and use the app fully offline-local on one device. Built by a surfer, for surfers who take their sessions seriously.

Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: The Call at 5.0 against Active Experience's 1.5. Active Experience's advantage is ratings volume (150 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
The Call holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 1.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Active Experience has 150 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
