Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: BroadLink at 58% against Security Hub's 9%. BroadLink also leads on ratings volume (2.6K vs 2) and update cadence (monthly vs every 3 months). Security Hub's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.3) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Security Hub holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: BroadLink has 2.6K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 9% of Security Hub's written reviews are positive against 58% of BroadLink's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Security Hub ships an update every 3 months, BroadLink monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
