Empty supports the following fasting types: 16-Hour Intermittent Fasting (16/8): Popularized by Hugh Jackman (Wolverine) as a efficient way to remove extra weight. 16/8 fasting means eating within a window of eight hours each day such as from 12pm to 8pm and not eating during the remaining 16 hours. It helps get us into the sweet metabolic state of fat burning called Ketosis. It helps staving off high cholesterol, diabetes and obesity. Custom Fasting: Setup a custom program to meet your fasting goals. You choose your fasting hours per day, and days per week. What is intermittent fasting? You already “fast” when you sleep. Intermittent fasting is just a pattern of eating that includes more “fasts” during the day. Many people skip breakfast, eat their first meal at midday and then eat their last meal at 8pm. This is equal to a fast of 16 hours, with an “eating window” of just 8 hours. Can Fasting help you Lose Weight? The key to weight loss through intermittent fasting is consistency. Our Fasting app has everything you need to keep track of your eating windows and fasting times. Other benefits of intermittent fasting: + Fat reserves stored in your organs are mobilized + Your metabolism becomes more flexible + Your body reduces toxic byproducts and unhealthy fat types + The risk of contracting numerous diseases is reduced Use our Fasting app to support all types of fasts. Whether you are a beginner or more experienced you can use the app to help with: Weekend Fast 16:8 or 5:2 fast Leangains The Warrior Diet And many more. If you already use myFitnessPal to track your calorie intake, you’ll find our Fasting app a breeze to track your eating and fasting schedule. Intermittent Fasting is also used by people following the Keto diet. Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Empty at 4.5 against Intermittent Fasting Tracker's 4.0. Empty also leads on ratings volume (95 vs 1). Intermittent Fasting Tracker's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1) and ads (none vs shown). On price, update cadence and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Empty sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Intermittent Fasting Tracker asks for nothing beyond the download.
Empty holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Empty has 95 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 70% of Empty's written reviews are positive against 100% of Intermittent Fasting Tracker's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Empty ships an update every 6 months, Intermittent Fasting Tracker every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on September 26, 2026 and September 29, 2026 respectively.
