Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is rating: Squat Counter! at 4.6 against SuperSlowTrainingTimer's 3.7. Squat Counter! also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 1) and ratings volume (30 vs 3). SuperSlowTrainingTimer's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 61%) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 3 months). On price, ads, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Squat Counter! holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.7. Written reviews complicate that: 61% of Squat Counter!'s written reviews are positive against 100% of SuperSlowTrainingTimer's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
