Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is rating: LEGO® Powered Up at 3.6 against MK brick's 2.9. LEGO® Powered Up also leads on ratings volume (550 vs 13). MK brick's advantage is review sentiment (56% vs 42%) and update cadence (monthly vs every 2 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

LEGO® Powered Up holds the better App Store score, 3.6 against 2.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: LEGO® Powered Up has 550 ratings behind it against 13, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 42% of LEGO® Powered Up's written reviews are positive against 56% of MK brick's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

LEGO® Powered Up ships an update every 2 months, MK brick monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
