HyperCatcher is a podcast player with AI research built in, and it all runs on your device. HEY JAMIE Hear something worth looking up? Ask Hey Jamie. HyperCatcher transcribes the last stretch of audio on your iPhone, works out what the hosts were talking about, and pulls up the page itself: the book on Apple Books, the video on YouTube, the song on Apple Music, the news article, the research paper or the official website. Nothing leaves your phone. Hey Jamie uses Apple Intelligence and needs iOS 26 on a supported device. CHAPTERS, BROUGHT TO LIFE Podcasts that publish chapters appear as a deck of cards in the player: titles, pictures, show notes and web links, right where you are listening. Expand any card to nearly full screen, then swipe down to return to the episode. ACTIVITY FEED Every Hey Jamie result, bookmark and note is saved to your activity feed, so you can come back to it after the episode ends. TRANSCRIPTS Open the transcript and read along as you listen, all transcribed on your device. AND MORE • Discover charts and search for any podcast • Subscribe with RSS or import an OPML file from another app • CarPlay, Siri and Shortcuts: run Hey Jamie hands free • Light and dark mode

Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Podverse at 4.8 against HyperCatcher's 4.1. Podverse also leads on ratings volume (1.9K vs 24) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 17.0). HyperCatcher's advantage is update cadence (every 5 days vs every 10 days). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Podverse sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and HyperCatcher sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Podverse holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Podverse has 1.9K ratings behind it against 24, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 68% of Podverse's written reviews are positive against 63% of HyperCatcher's.
Podverse ships an update every 10 days, HyperCatcher every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
