Bipolar Disorder is a mental disorder that causes shifts in a person's mood, energy, and thoughts. People with bipolar disorder experience high and low moods (mania and depression, respectively) that are more extreme than what people typically experience. This can lead to a lot of stress and problems with family, work, money, and the law. This app contains a self-report questionnaire to help screen for symptoms related to bipolar disorder. It also contains information to help you get a better understanding of this mental illness. Bipolar Disorder Test is designed to evaluate your symptoms of bipolar disorder with a scientifically-supported 15-question test. It uses the Mood Disorder Questionnaire (MDQ), a screening questionnaire for bipolar spectrum disorder that is commonly used in research and healthcare settings. Bipolar Test contains four tools: - Start Test: take the MDQ questionnaire to screen for bipolar disorder - Result: understand your test results and get resources tailored to your result - Information: learn about bipolar spectrum disorder and discover additional resources that can help you on your path to recovery Disclaimer: The MDQ is NOT a diagnostic test. A diagnosis can only be provided by a qualified healthcare professional. Please consult a physician or mental health professional if you are concerned about bipolar disorder. Verdict
The clearest difference is update cadence: Simple Depression Test at fortnightly against Bipolar Disorder Test's every 8 months. Simple Depression Test also leads on review sentiment (50% vs 40%). Bipolar Disorder Test's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 4.4) and ratings volume (261 vs 13). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Bipolar Disorder Test holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Bipolar Disorder Test has 261 ratings behind it against 13, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 40% of Bipolar Disorder Test's written reviews are positive against 50% of Simple Depression Test's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Bipolar Disorder Test ships an update every 8 months, Simple Depression Test fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and September 29, 2026 respectively.
