Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is rating: Pedora at 4.5 against Play Steps's 3.8. Pedora also leads on ratings volume (61 vs 5). Play Steps's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 65%) and ads (none vs shown). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Pedora holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Pedora has 61 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Play Steps's written reviews are positive against 65% of Pedora's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

Play Steps ships an update every 9 days, Pedora monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
