Outlays helps you keep track of everyday spending and plan your month with a clear, simple view. Capture the details Add an expense or refund with a category, date, and note. Attach a receipt from your camera or photo library, then find entries by searching or filtering your activity. Plan with confidence Set a monthly budget and schedule recurring bills. See spending, planned bills, and the amount left in your budget together. Mark a bill as paid to record the expense without counting it twice. Use your currency Choose your preferred currency and keep records in multiple currencies. Totals remain separate by currency; Outlays does not convert exchange rates or connect to bank accounts. Keep control of your records Create custom categories, import expenses from CSV or an Outlays JSON backup, and export your records when you need them. Receipt photos are stored separately on your device and are not included in CSV or JSON exports. Private by design Your expenses and receipt photos stay in the app on your device. No account is required. Try the sample-data demo before adding your own records. Device backups and files you choose to share are managed by your device and chosen services. Updating from the original Outlays? The app imports your existing local expenses and categories while retaining the original store on your device. Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Outlays at none against Gem's 4. Outlays also leads on iOS requirement (17.0 vs 26.0). Gem's advantage is update cadence (every 4 weeks vs every 35 months) and chart position (#13 vs unranked). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.
