Permit Ready helps adults prepare for the driver's license knowledge test in California and in Florida: the written test for a first license, also called the permit test. You choose your state, and every question is shown in English with a translation underneath, so you learn each rule together with the English words used on road signs and in the test. Two states, each with its own questions • California: 450 practice questions, translated into Spanish, Simplified Chinese, Vietnamese and Filipino (Tagalog). Mock exams under the adult test rules: 36 questions, 30 correct to pass • Florida: 452 practice questions, translated into Spanish, Haitian Creole and Portuguese. Mock exams under the Class E test rules: 50 questions, 40 correct to pass, in 60 minutes. Florida gives its test in English only, so the English always comes first What you get • Questions written for this app, each with a plain explanation and the section of the state's law or the handbook topic it is based on • The road signs and vehicle markings of your state (California 82, Florida 77), drawn to the standard designs: you write what a sign means, and the app checks • Spaced review that brings back the questions you are about to forget • Your mistake patterns: the rule you keep applying wrong, not only a score • A readiness estimate that updates after each study session • Listening mode: questions, options and explanations read aloud with your phone's own voices • A 10-question check that shows where you stand before you start Who it is for Adults in California or Florida getting a first driver's license, especially if English is not their first language. Filipino speakers can use it as a DMV reviewer with Tagalog underneath. How it works Start with the 10-question check at no cost and see your whole result. The first 25 questions, one mock exam and 20 road signs are included at no cost. One payment unlocks everything, for both states. There is no subscription, no advertising and no account. The app works offline, and your answers stay on your phone. Sources The questions are original. Verdict
The clearest difference is update cadence: Permit Ready at every 3 weeks against Flex Metronome's every 3 months. Flex Metronome's advantage is device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 16.0). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.
