The clearest difference is review sentiment: 台北通TaipeiPASS at 67% against IDExpert's 11%. 台北通TaipeiPASS also leads on ratings volume (53 vs 1). IDExpert's advantage is rating (4.0 vs 3.3) and device support (4 vs 2). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
IDExpert holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 3.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: 台北通TaipeiPASS has 53 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 11% of IDExpert's written reviews are positive against 67% of 台北通TaipeiPASS's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
