The first kindergarten and child care centre of Sun Island was established in 1984. Since then, Sun Island has been striving to provide quality pre-primary education for our next generation and lay the foundation for their life-long learning. The mission of Sun Island is to render a pleasurable learning environment to nurture self-esteem, self-caring ability, self-learning and decent personality for our students.

CanTone is a Cantonese learning app designed specifically for ethnic minority kindergarten children. It offers the following features: 1. Listening to vocabulary at normal and slow speeds: The app provides a large number of audio examples, allowing children to listen to accurate Cantonese pronunciations and choose slower speed pronunciations for a clearer understanding of speech details. 2. AI pronunciation comparison feature: CanTone utilizes advanced AI technology to automatically analyze and evaluate children's pronunciation, providing immediate feedback to help them continuously improve. 3. Encouragement mechanism: The app employs a system of positive reinforcement, providing encouraging responses regardless of the child's pronunciation accuracy. This helps the children maintain a positive attitude towards learning and enjoy the learning process. Recently, CanTone has received funding and recognition from the SIE Fund (Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship Fund). This means that CanTone's innovative ideas and potential have been affirmed by professional organizations, which will contribute to the further development and perfection of the app. With the support of the funding, CanTone can optimize its product, expand its user base, continue to innovate, and establish partnership relationships. This will help achieve its mission of providing better Cantonese learning support for ethnic minority kindergarten children.
