Verdict
The clearest difference is monetization model: Blitz Chess Clock at free with in-app purchases against Kernel's subscription. Blitz Chess Clock also leads on rating (4.2 vs 4.0). Kernel's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 3 months) and ratings volume (223 vs 6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.
