Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Edge LED at 4.7 against Trimlight's 2.9. Edge LED also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 3 months). Trimlight's advantage is review sentiment (41% vs 0%) and ads (none vs shown). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Edge LED holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 2.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Trimlight has 132 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 41% of Trimlight's written reviews are positive against 0% of Edge LED's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Trimlight ships an update every 3 months, Edge LED every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
