Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: WLED Pro at 4.3 against Trimlight's 3.0. WLED Pro also leads on update cadence (every 6 weeks vs every 3 months). Trimlight's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 4) and review sentiment (41% vs 9%). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. WLED Pro sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Trimlight asks for nothing beyond the download.
WLED Pro holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Trimlight has 122 ratings behind it against 15, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 41% of Trimlight's written reviews are positive against 9% of WLED Pro's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Trimlight ships an update every 3 months, WLED Pro every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on August 1, 2026 and September 29, 2026 respectively.
