About

Procurement Notes

Features

Procure is a notebook for buyers walking a trade fair. At each stall you record what matters and move on: the product, the seller, the booth number, the minimum order quantity, the price per piece and the pieces per container. You photograph the product and the business card. Then you walk to the next stall. It works with no signal at all. A hall has no usable connection, and a notes app that waits for one is worse than paper. Everything is written to your phone the moment you type it. Nothing is uploaded unless you ask for it. WHAT IT DOES • One note per stall, with the six numbers a buyer is actually quoted • Photographs of the product, the business card and the price list, taken at the stall • Cost per container worked out as you type, because that is the number you decide on • Prices in US dollars, Chinese yuan or Indian rupees, converted into all three at once • Search and filter by seller or by how interested you were • Rank every supplier by cost per container, across currencies • Export the lot as a CSV that opens properly in Excel, Chinese names and all OFFLINE IS THE POINT Capture never touches the network. Not to save a note, not to take a photograph, not to work out a conversion. Your notes live on your phone and stay there until you choose to back them up. Exchange rates are fetched once a day when you have a connection and kept on the phone, so a conversion still works in a hall with no signal. Every converted figure shows the date of the rate it used, because a rate from last Tuesday is not a quote. BACKING UP IS YOURS TO ASK FOR There is no background sync. When you are on hotel wifi at the end of the day, tap Back up. Interrupted halfway, it resumes where it stopped rather than starting again. Verify your email address once and you can back up, restore onto a new phone, and export. Until then it is a private notebook on your phone, which is all most people need for a four-day fair. NO PASSWORD Signing in is a six-digit code sent to your address. There is no password to forget, reuse or have stolen. WHAT IT DOES NOT DO No advertising. No analytics. No tracking of any kind. Nothing is sold or shared. Procure does not place orders, arrange shipping or talk to a supplier on your behalf — it remembers what they told you, accurately, so you can decide when you are home.
