Verdict
The clearest difference is monetization model: Plane Notes at free with in-app purchases against Meeting Notes & Work Planner's subscription. Plane Notes also leads on rating (4.6 vs 4.1) and update cadence (every 2 days vs every 3 weeks). Meeting Notes & Work Planner's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (66% vs 43%). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. Meeting Notes & Work Planner sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days and Plane Notes sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Plane Notes holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Meeting Notes & Work Planner has 1.9K ratings behind it against 93, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 66% of Meeting Notes & Work Planner's written reviews are positive against 43% of Plane Notes's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Meeting Notes & Work Planner ships an update every 3 weeks, Plane Notes every 2 days. Both last shipped on October 14, 2026.
