Welcome to Circuitry - the world's first and only 3D circuit builder! INSANELY FAST Circuitry uses an optimized, GPU-accelerated network analysis algorithm that will blow your mind. It can calculate the voltages and currents of even the largest circuits in the blink of an eye - an insanely fast blinking eye! SUPER DUPER EASY TO USE While most circuit simulators are stuck in the stone age when it comes to usability, Circuitry takes you on a time-travel journey to the future. Its' 3D interface and intuitive controls will instantly feel familiar - no lengthy tutorials required. DOCUMENT-BASED Every circuit you build in Circuitry is a file. That way, they integrate perfectly into your existing files and can be used exactly the same way: you can duplicate and modify them, share them, and they are available to you on all your devices. HOW TO USE: 1. Place components by dragging from the toolkit to the canvas. 2. Connect components by tapping the sides of the components in cabling mode. 3. Delete or modify components by long pressing on them. AVAILABLE COMPONENTS: - Resistor - Voltage source - Light bulb

Build an engine and hear it run. Engine Lab is a touch-first engine simulator: design anything from a single to a V12, then hear it idle, rev and pull to the limiter, live on your iPhone or iPad. BUILD BENCH • Start from 317 real engines with their published bore, stroke, compression and firing order, or design your own. • Set the layout, 1 to 12 cylinders, bore, stroke, firing order and redline. • Hear each change as you make it, and hold to rev. • Try different headers, exhausts and mufflers. • Compare against a saved version by ear or on the dyno. SEE IT IN 3D • Every engine, including your own builds, becomes a 3D model driven by the live simulation: pistons, crank, cams, valves and glowing headers. • Orbit, zoom, slow it down, switch between X-ray and solid, and tap any part for live readings. The classic 2D cutaway is one tap away. DRIVE IT • Manual or automatic gearbox with clutch and road speed, plus a gearing chart with top speed in each gear. • Simulated dyno pulls with torque and power curves. • Six built-in engines: Honda B18C5 VTEC, Honda TRX520 single, BMW M52B28, Toyota 2JZ, Audi 2.3 inline-5 and GM LS V8. IMPORT AND SHARE • Import engine-sim .mr scripts and share your builds as .mr files. • Export a WAV recorded by the on-device simulator. No account, network service or microphone permission is required. An optional one-time Pro purchase opens every catalog engine, the Specialists and Masters challenges, advanced tuning and unlimited saved builds; the free plan includes 20 catalog engines and keeps three builds. Values are simulated estimates for exploration, not certified engineering measurements.

Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Circuitry at none against Engine Lab's 1. Circuitry also leads on ratings volume (156 vs 2) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 18.0). Engine Lab's advantage is update cadence (every 9 days vs every 4 months). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Engine Lab sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Circuitry asks for nothing beyond the download.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 3.9 for Circuitry against 4.0 for Engine Lab. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Circuitry has 156 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 51% of Circuitry's written reviews are positive against 50% of Engine Lab's.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

Circuitry ships an update every 4 months, Engine Lab every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and November 1, 2026 respectively.
