DLM

Quit alone? Hard. Quit together? Easy. DLM is the screen-time blocker you can't sneak around — because the key isn't on your phone, it's on someone else's. Pick the apps that pull you in. Set the hours you want them gone. Pair with a buddy — a partner, a sober friend, anyone who'll actually hold the line. When you want to unlock, you write down why, sit through a cooldown, and your buddy decides. Half the urge is gone by the time they answer. WHY THIS WORKS WHEN OTHER APPS DON'T Every other screen-time tool eventually lets you turn the block off yourself. That's the failure mode. DLM gives the key to a different human — the one who actually wants to see you win. HOW IT WORKS 1. Pick your traps. Choose the apps and the time window through Apple's Family Controls. Your blocked list never leaves your device. 2. Hand the key. Send a 6-character pairing code to your buddy. From that point on, only they can unlock you. 3. Wait it out. Submit an unblock request with a real reason. Sit through a short cooldown. Your buddy decides on their phone. THE CONTRACT No back doors. Not even for you. Switching your role, editing your block window, changing what apps are blocked — every escape hatch goes through your buddy. The whole point is that the door doesn't open just because you really, really want it to. PRICING If you're the one being blocked, you pay $5.99 per month or $35.99 per year (50% off annualised). If you're just holding the key for someone else, you don't pay. Ever. Three-day free trial on every new subscription. One Premium plan covers your whole Apple Family. WHAT WE DON'T DO DLM is not a parental control app. It's built for adults who want to be held to their own promises. We don't monitor what you do on your phone. Your blocked apps list stays on your device. We can't see it, your buddy can't see it. REQUIREMENTS iPhone, iOS 17 or later. Family Controls permission required (Apple's official screen-time framework). Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: PetsApp at none against DLM's 2. PetsApp also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 3 months) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.0). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.
