Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: PTE Practice & Tests at 93% against AMEDEX's 0%. PTE Practice & Tests also leads on update cadence (every 9 days vs every 6 months) and ratings volume (89 vs 1). AMEDEX's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 4) and rating (5.0 vs 4.6). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. PTE Practice & Tests sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. AMEDEX asks for nothing beyond the download.
AMEDEX holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: PTE Practice & Tests has 89 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 0% of AMEDEX's written reviews are positive against 93% of PTE Practice & Tests's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
AMEDEX ships an update every 6 months, PTE Practice & Tests every 9 days. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
