Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Superego at 5.0 against Spill's 4.6. Superego also leads on monetization model (free vs ad-supported). Spill's advantage is ratings volume (1.7K vs 1) and update cadence (every 10 days vs every 5 weeks). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Superego holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Spill has 1.7K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
Superego ships an update every 5 weeks, Spill every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and November 7, 2026 respectively.
