Twilight Compass
Read full descriptionHide full description
Twilight Compass is an offline light analysis tool that calculates golden hour and blue hour, and helps you understand where light comes from and when it happens. All calculations are performed locally on your device using astronomical formulas. No internet connection is required, and the app works reliably even in remote or no-signal environments. The built-in light compass shows your device orientation, the direction of the sun or moon, and the light coverage for different time phases (day, night, golden hour, and blue hour). This allows you to quickly decide where to face and whether conditions are suitable for shooting. Key features: • Offline calculation of golden hour and blue hour (start and end times) • Real-time countdown to the next light phase • Light compass: device heading, sun/moon direction, and light sectors • Optional map overlay (when online) for better spatial reference • Local notifications with customizable lead time (5–60 minutes) • Multi-device sync across iPhone, Apple Watch, and widgets • Widgets for quick access to light timing without opening the app Twilight Compass is designed for photography, travel, and any scenario where understanding natural light is essential, helping you decide when to go and where to look.

Twilight Compass's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (weekly vs every 2 months). On in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.
