Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Alpine DVR at 3.5 against ZY Cami's 2.1. Alpine DVR also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 12). Both are free to download. ZY Cami sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Alpine DVR asks for nothing beyond the download.
Alpine DVR holds the better App Store score, 3.5 against 2.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ZY Cami has 204 ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 13% of ZY Cami's written reviews are positive against 0% of Alpine DVR's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
ZY Cami ships an update every 2 months, Alpine DVR every 9 months. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
