Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Spectre VPN at none against GDevelop's 21. Spectre VPN also leads on ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (68% vs 50%). GDevelop's advantage is rating (4.3 vs 3.9) and ratings volume (2.5K vs 250). On price, update cadence and device support there is nothing between them.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

GDevelop holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: GDevelop has 2.5K ratings behind it against 250, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 68% of Spectre VPN's written reviews are positive against 50% of GDevelop's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
