Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Z at 4.8 against The Rooted Truth's 4.3. Z also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 7) and ratings volume (521 vs 4). The Rooted Truth's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 83%) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. The Rooted Truth sells 7 one-off in-app purchases. Z asks for nothing beyond the download.
Z holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Z has 521 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 83% of Z's written reviews are positive against 100% of The Rooted Truth's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Z ships an update every 2 months, The Rooted Truth every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 7, 2026 and November 8, 2026 respectively.
