Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Dedrone City at 5.0 against iTAK's 3.5. Dedrone City also leads on iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.6). iTAK's advantage is monetization model (free vs subscription) and ratings volume (156 vs 1). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Dedrone City holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: iTAK has 156 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 25% of Dedrone City's written reviews are positive against 41% of iTAK's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Dedrone City ships an update every 6 weeks, iTAK every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 4, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
