Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is rating: Superlist at 4.5 against Events's 3.4. Superlist also leads on monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and ratings volume (465 vs 5). Events's advantage is review sentiment (69% vs 48%) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

CostPrice · In-app purchases · Ads · Monetization

Both are free to download. Events sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per year and Superlist sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $6.00 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

Superlist holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Superlist has 465 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 69% of Events's written reviews are positive against 48% of Superlist's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

Events ships an update every 9 days, Superlist every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and November 7, 2026 respectively.
