Verdict
Pacaso and Hemmings both sit at 4.6 stars, but that hides the real split: 81% of Pacaso's written reviews are positive against 31% of Hemmings's. Pacaso also leads on update cadence (every 3 days vs every 10 days). Hemmings's advantage is monetization model (free vs paid) and ratings volume (7.3K vs 86). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Hemmings holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Hemmings has 7.3K ratings behind it against 86, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 81% of Pacaso's written reviews are positive against 31% of Hemmings's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Pacaso ships an update every 3 days, Hemmings every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
