Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
HOBOconnect holds the better App Store score, 2.2 against 1.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: HOBOconnect has 29 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 8% of HOBOconnect's written reviews are positive against 10% of Wildlife Cam Pro's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
HOBOconnect ships an update every 6 weeks, Wildlife Cam Pro every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
