Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is rating: Subscription Manager at 4.7 against Stack's 3.7. Subscription Manager also leads on ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (127 vs 3). Stack's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 81%) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 17.0). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

CostPrice · In-app purchases · Ads · Monetization

Both are free to download. Stack sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Subscription Manager sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

Subscription Manager holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Subscription Manager has 127 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Stack's written reviews are positive against 81% of Subscription Manager's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

Stack ships an update monthly, Subscription Manager weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 2, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
