Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is rating: Trane® Technician at 4.8 against LaserCalc Mobile's 3.7. Trane® Technician also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 4) and ratings volume (222 vs 6). LaserCalc Mobile's advantage is review sentiment (50% vs 25%) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 5 weeks). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

Trane® Technician holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Trane® Technician has 222 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 25% of Trane® Technician's written reviews are positive against 50% of LaserCalc Mobile's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

Trane® Technician ships an update every 5 weeks, LaserCalc Mobile every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and November 4, 2026 respectively.
