Verdict
DeadSpread and Deadsound both sit at 4.8 stars, but that hides the real split: 90% of DeadSpread's written reviews are positive against 50% of Deadsound's. DeadSpread also leads on ratings volume (103 vs 7) and update cadence (weekly vs fortnightly). Deadsound's advantage is monetization model (free vs ad-supported). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for DeadSpread against 4.7 for Deadsound. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: DeadSpread has 103 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 90% of DeadSpread's written reviews are positive against 50% of Deadsound's.
DeadSpread ships an update weekly, Deadsound fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
