Verdict
The clearest difference is ratings volume: Aprende Institute at 2.2K against GLHS's 5. Aprende Institute also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for Aprende Institute against 4.6 for GLHS. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Aprende Institute has 2.2K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two.
Aprende Institute ships an update every 3 weeks, GLHS every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on November 7, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
