Verdict
The clearest difference is monetization model: Campus Cafés at free against Java House Café App's free with in-app purchases. Campus Cafés also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 84%). Java House Café App's advantage is ratings volume (1.2K vs 2) and rating (4.8 vs 4.5). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Java House Café App holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Java House Café App has 1.2K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Campus Cafés's written reviews are positive against 84% of Java House Café App's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Campus Cafés ships an update every 7 months, Java House Café App every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 10, 2026 and October 19, 2026 respectively.
