Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is ads: POINPY at none against Match Attack's shown. POINPY also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and rating (5.0 vs 4.7). Match Attack's advantage is update cadence (every 2 days vs every 2 weeks). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. POINPY sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and Match Attack sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

POINPY holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: POINPY has 280 ratings behind it against 19, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 95% of POINPY's written reviews are positive against 100% of Match Attack's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

POINPY ships an update every 2 weeks, Match Attack every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on November 7, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
