Divvi
Read full descriptionHide full description
Divvi splits the bill and then gets out of the way. Dinner, rent, a weekend trip, the shared taxi — add the expense, pick who was in, and Divvi works out who owes what. Split it equally or set custom shares. The maths is done in whole units of money, so the numbers always add up: no missing rupee, no stray cent. As people pay you back, tick them off. Each split shows what is still outstanding and what is settled, so you can see at a glance whether anything is still open. When it is done, share a receipt image. It renders as a picture, so it drops straight into WhatsApp, iMessage, Signal, or wherever the group already talks. Nobody you are splitting with has to install anything. NO ACCOUNT, NO SERVER Divvi has no sign-up, no login, and no backend. Your splits live on your iPhone. If you are signed in to iCloud, they sync privately across your own devices through your personal iCloud account — Divvi cannot read that data, and it is never sent to us. We do not run a server to send it to. This also means Divvi does not sync a split between you and the other people in it. Divvi is your own record of who owes what, not a shared group ledger. WHAT YOU GET • Equal shares on any expense, plus exact amounts and percentages with Divvi Pro • Whole-unit money maths, so totals always reconcile • Per-person settle-up tracking with a clear settled and unsettled view • A shareable receipt image — the one export, and it works everywhere • Private iCloud sync across your own devices, with no account required • Works fully offline ADS AND DIVVI PRO Divvi is free. Equal splits and up to 3 active splits at a time cost nothing, and Divvi shows a few ads: a card on the Home screen and an occasional full-screen ad at a natural pause, never while you are entering an expense. Divvi Pro is a one-time in-app purchase, not a subscription: it removes every ad and unlocks exact amounts, percentages and unlimited active splits. Or watch one short ad for a Divvi Pass, which unlocks the Pro features for 24 hours. Nothing you have already saved is ever locked. Divvi is built for iPhone.

Verdict
The clearest difference is ads: Budget Hound at none against Divvi's shown. Divvi's advantage is update cadence (every 9 days vs every 2 months). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.
